Ralph McQuarrie

In my mind the very first member of the Artist's alliance - the brilliant Ralph McQuarrie.

This piece in intended to celebrate his Star Wars universe vision. In addition to this, it is also meant to recognise the influence his work has had on most of us.

Thank you so much!
I have sent a low-res file to him to see if he is happy with the likeness and the overall piece. I have never met him so this one was based entirely on the photographic reference they sent to me... Hopefully its on the money.

I tried to include images that reminded me of his iconic vision and hopefully it does his wonderful art justice.

Thanks Amos -- Nothing very sophisticated but just perhaps a fresher look. Yes, Africa is a special place, just a pity there are so many disfunctional people making life exceptionally hard for everyone else!

After looking at many of your "about legends of the business" works,
I wonder how you would want to be portraid?
I mean, all these guys have their own stuff put near their face, what would yours be?

You know Amos, I have no idea how to answer that! Somehow I feel that you need to have achieved a certain status in whatever community you serve before a 'feature' can be done. Although I have done many varied things in my life, I doubt that any of it could be seen as having achieved the status needed to qualify...

You animate, you draw,
You are an artist
You give color to this world!!!

You should look at the Artists Allied logo, that vertical lightsaber, only it is a paint brush
if it still extists
You are that, better than Luke Skywalker, you tell the story

ps. I do not like to tell people "what they are" since one can never know, so sorry but it sounds right

Ha ha ha... thanks Amos. I am honored and humbled!!

Actually there are really a lot of people out there who are more talented than I am (in my opinion all the artists on the Allied web site would possibly fall into that category), but I warmly accept your comments.

If you ever get to visit the Presidio and LucasFilm's new offices, you will see what I mean...
