James Dean


I got a chance to do a commission of a subject I have not drawn in 15 years...I used to draw him practicaly everyday for YEARS. Anyway I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did doing it. It brought back a lot of fond memories.

I have no idea why you would draw him so often. Perhaps the same reason I like drawing Michelle Pfeiffer??

Damn fine job. I like the energy of the line. its not fussy at all - easy and uncluttered. I could learn from that.

I read this book once, On The Road
that is where I met James Dean

really hated his character, so unresposible
but looking at his photos a few months ago I reallized what it was all about

anyway, great job, that is exactlly what I was learning today, grey paper and white and black pencils, damn hard

ps. MC. Escher is best at that
